The Major Account Executive is a strategic ambassador to our multi-unit local sales customers. The role is responsible for strengthening customer relationships by driving penetration (share of wallet) while proactively managing the risk of losing business. The role also works closely with Local Sales leaders and New Business Managers to unlock new opportunities and drive growth. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Own the full relationship for the assigned customers, primarily contract, with the flexibility to support independent customers Execute penetration and retention strategies by identifying growth opportunities, managing customer attrition, and building long-term relationships Partner with supply chain and merchandising on inventory planning and route efficiencies Work closely with leader to balance time visiting customers and time spent working on their inventory to ensure they have the correct levels to meet their needs Leverage our online platform (Tandem, MOXe, SOUS, Sigma, etc.) to manage accounts, track performance, and prioritize actions Communicate with customers to apprise them of mutual performance, new products, programs and market trends both informally as needed and through periodic, formal business reviews Drive your personal motor vehicle to conduct regular check-ins, site visits and follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction Other duties as assigned by manager RELATIONSHIPS Internal: Major Account Manager, Region Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, New Business Manager, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact, Major Account coordinators. External: Customers, vendors, prospective customers. WORK ENVIRONMENT Frequently outside the office environment working in the field in variable weather and temperature conditions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Three years of experience in sales and distribution Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills Competitive spirit and results driven mentality Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of service and accountability Experience using quantitative & qualitative research data Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as customer service and presentation abilities Demonstrated problem solving ability and negotiation skills Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbs Overnight travel may be required to participate in trainings, meetings, or other company events EDUCATION High School diploma or equivalent LICENSES Valid driver’s license required & motor vehicle record must be in good standing PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Foodservice sales and distribution experience Restaurant operations experience Bachelor's degree This role will also receive annual incentive plan bonus. ​ ​Benefits for this role may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.   • At least 21 years old (interstate)
