Full time CLOSING SOON Apply for this job Position Type: Support Staff Date Posted: 6/5/2025 Location: Central Office Date Available: 07/01/2025 Closing Date: UNTIL FILLED SPECIAL NEEDS BUS MONITOR JOB GOAL: To monitor student behavior and attend to the special needs of students with unique health care needs while they are riding the school buses. RESPONSIBLE TO: Special Services Director RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist the bus driver with the safety, movement, management and care of assigned children boarding the school bus, leaving the bus or being transported. 2. Is familiar with and follows child pick-up and release protocols. 3. SeatS students in an area on the bus to ensure direct observation of assigned passengers at all times 4. Operates special equipment, assistive devices, or special occupant restraints. 5. When working on a school bus equipped with a wheelchair lift, operates the lift for loading and unloading of wheelchairs and ensures that the wheelchair is properly secured on the bus. 6. Ensures that a child takes his/her belongings with him/her when departing the bus. 7. Assures that children are released to designated adult supervision. 8. Assists the school bus driver in reporting infractions of school bus safety. 9. Reports all incidents or safety concerns to the principal, Special Services Director, and/or Transpiration Director immediately. 10. Maintain the safety of the students at all times. 11. Any other duties as assigned.
